After the interview
Core Gift Discovery™ can have a dramatic impact on a person. Often, there is an increased feeling of self-worth, confidence, and more sureness about having a distinct and worthwhile contribution to make to others. To continue the effects of those initial awarenesses and deepen the transformation, the person needs to be different in their life.
One of the powerful advantages of Core Gift Discovery™ is that it provides information about what most motivates a person AND it can be used in all parts of their life. The possibilities are limitless, which is what makes it such a powerful tool to use in coaching.
At the Institute, we’ve noticed success patterns in coaches who are able to help a person make significant progress in integrating their Core Gift in their life. We want to share our learning from listening to others and our own experiences.
"The resources of the Core Gift Institute create deeper ways of working with clients that are not widely known or used in coaching circles or certification processes. For me, it’s the missing link. It brings clients back to the core of who they are and connects their goals with their Core Gift so they are motivated to follow-through.”
Elisa Ryan, coach, Australia
What can you expect from this session?
This session will provide the opportunity to review and discuss multiple strategies for helping a person integrate and act on their Core Gift. A variety of content and approaches will be presented, with opportunities to ask questions and decide on the ones that best fit your working style and the people you are supporting/coaching. You will receive electronic versions of the material for future reference and use.
The following action-oriented content will be covered:
Coaching cluster questions:
Working with a small group of cross-discipline advisors, we’ve developed a set of questions you can use to help a person gain increased awareness about their Core Gift and act on it. Divided into sections, from the end of the interview through action check-ins at later dates, this is a comprehensive catalog of questions helpful for any scenario.
Starting Strong with Gifted Threads:
Starting any coaching session with a process to identify three strong gifts, in addition to the person's Core Gift, that they can put to use in both diagnosing and finding opportunity for the current challenge they are facing. Establishes a positive, powerful beginning.
Visioning a Life:
An imagination journaling activity that embeds practical ways for them to use their Core Gift in all parts of their life from the moment they wake up in the morning until they go to sleep at night. Increases their motivation to use their Gift in more parts of their life.
Gifted Belonging:
A coaching model to help a person see how they can belong more using their Core Gift in the four primary areas of belonging including relationships, nature, self, and spirit.
Leading a Gifted Life:
Question prompts in the eight domains of life that help a person identify areas of current Core Gift strength and areas to bring more of their Core Gift.
Five Stages of Integration:
Individuals progress through predictable stages in internalizing and acting on their Core Gift. We’ll describe each stage and offer examples of questions and activities that can be helpful.
Resource Bank action items:
We’ll review and answer questions about four of the primary action-promoting worksheets in the Resource Bank including Life domain choices, Loyal soldiers and shadows, Gifts at work, Gifts in life and Employment seeking.
Second Sentence Learning and Action:
We’ll review and discuss methods to support a person in gift-giving action through diagnosing and acting on the items in the second sentence of their Core Gift Statement.
Discussion about resistance:
We’ll facilitate a group discussion about typical kinds of resistance/lack of action when Core Gift coaching and build a helpful list of strategies.
“Being invited to identify what was received through the events in their life, and speaking out what gift has been won which it is now theirs to share - their Core Gift naming - helps people gain a firm sense of identity, recognize their values, their worthiness. It helps them to heal.”
Rozanne Miller, therapist, California
