Our Mission

Discovery and dissemination of knowledge and practices about gift identification and giving which increase health and abundance in individuals and communities.

We do this by:

  • Sponsoring nature-based events designed to offer adults reflective time in nature to discover and use their gifts.
  • Providing education, coaching, and training for practitioners who want to support individuals and communities in identifying and using gifts.
  • Being a resource center for information about gift theory, discovery, and use.

One thing we know for certain: understanding and using our gifts is both an old and a new idea. Cultures and faith traditions, many centuries old, used specific methods to identify and use gifts in their members. Now, modern neuroscience and positive psychology have backed up older wisdom traditions by proving that individuals thrive when they are able to find meaning in their lives by knowing and giving their gifts. Yet there is no central place where a person or organization can go to get a wide perspective and in-depth information about gifts from a variety of beliefs and fields of practice.

The Core Gift Institute was recently organized to be a welcoming place for finding information about gifts.

The Core Gift Institute is partially sponsored by a generous donation from the Hurlbut-Johnson Charitable Trust.
